Bullets are inferior, your boat is all wrong. Should have bought a Skeeter!

Just kidding, of course.

99.7? That’s squintin water pretty good.

Glad you guys survived.

Sounds like the OP knew what he was doing and had taken reasonable precautions. My only fear is copy cat folks pushing speed on the water who haven't done that kind of homework. In any case, glad everyone is okay. Good lesson for for everyone who likes to see what she can do.

Maybe you should check out California, I hear they agree with your point of view. Oh wait, they like to run 160 down the Cal Delta in offshore racing boats. Anywhere you go there will be speed on the water. This guy sounds like he was as safe as he can be, and likes to go fast. I would love to experience 90 in a bass boat.

Glad all are okay and hope you hit that 100 mark one day!

Oh good lord. He wasn't endangering anybody that wasn't a willing participant. I'll never understand why y'all want the government to control everything in your lives.

Been in a Bullet going 92 and driven one to 80 mph... heck of rush for sure. Not the kind of boat I want to own, but if you haven't ever been in one of these kind of boats flying across the water I highly recommend trying it at least once!

more power to ya
By the way --- as an OLD MAN --- I am OKay with any person doing ANYTHING that does not harm or interfere with any person.,,, ANYTHING.
Going 100 mph on the water in a "controlled" environment is kinda like jumping out of a perfectly good airplane with a parachute. I am not going to do it --- but by all means YOU can.

Thanks fellas. Appreciate the words. Not my first rodeo for the go fast! I’m happy to give any one of you a ride. When the setup is right..... and At 90. It’s gonna take me some time to push the envelope again, but as said above it’s a setback. We learn what went wrong, and we fix it.
For the question the boat was loaded with my fishing setup, not that I carry a lot. But 2 guys, trolling motor, all batteries, rods, tackle, but empty wells and half tank of gas.
After more looking this morning and consulting some of my expert buddies, looks like my assumptions are correct. DO NO CHOP YOUR SKEGS PEOPLE! I tried this case as it was sold to me this way, but it looks like it doesn’t help you go much faster if at all but it looses a lot of bite in the water. Lesson learned. It also didn’t help that I had over trimmed the boat at the last second, looking for that 1 more mph. With not enough skeg in the water and the boat over trimmed.... boom.

A Bullet I Had came unhooked on me around the 90 mph mark one time but luckily recovered... scared the [censored] out of me! I've got the big slow & heavy 21XRS now and keep it around a comfortable 80.

I gotta say though, the new 21SST and the 300R 4 stroke has been giving me nightmares lately. I may pull the trigger soon.

Glad you guys are ok.

I’ve got a car that says 140 on speedometer but this doesn’t make legal to drive down highway this fast. I can tell you I observe no wake zones respect people property and other people on water. I prefer to live and be able to come home to my family in one piece. If you or someone else chooses not to so be it but don’t endanger other people

Get off your high horse

Exactly!

Ranger177, I am willing to bet every dollar I have that at some point in your life you have done something that everyone around you would consider stupid.

I know Trace and he has the ability to handle a hi-po boat at hi-speed. He admitted it was his fault. He wasn't out there on a crowded weekend endangering others. There are those of us that get a thrill out of pushing a boat to its limits. Just because you're not one of them doesn't make it wrong!

Stop judging & go fishing!

T-Racer, Glad you and your partner are safe. Thanks for sharing and filling in all the details. Lots to be learned from this especially the importance of proper safety equipment.

My good buddy forest hump said it best. Stupid is as stupid does. I did not personally attack this man or bring politics into this at any point. I said glad he was safe and hope he learned from this experience. I don’t know you and you don’t know me. We all nowhappens when you “ assume “ something. I’ll leave it at that and hope have good safe day on water

Ken I'll have to get you to teach me how to drive though the horrible chine walk my blistering Skeeter gets at 70..... nuts

I love to go fast in a boat, not so much on land in a car... There is a feeling of extreme pleasure beyond 70+
I get why people go fast.... cheers
