Does SC ever get stocked with Florida strain largemouth? With so many cookie-cutter less than 2 pound fish being caught, I wonder if re-stocking would have an affect.

Fish care and not knowing how to fizz a bass caught from the depths is probably the main issue.

There are a lot of good fish that die at the ramp between October and December

But the lake has had several great spawn cycles the last few years, which leads to 1-2lb fish everywhere

This is from the latest survey.

"Largemouth Bass genetics were analyzed in 2015
and showed excellent Florida influence (83%, Table 6)."

2015 SCR survey

I spoke to Mr.Tibbs about it a few years ago and he said Squaw had the highest percentage of Florida strain of any lake he was over and they were focusing stocking other lakes first. It was initially stocked with Florida bass in 90 and 91.

2015 was a great year for big fish! we had a stringer that went 32 and some change!

the lake will spit out some big fish again. Fish care is important on this lake. I don't know many times I've laid on my stomach with some others fizzing fish. but fish are going to die on that lake .

I dont fish any deeper than 15 ft 99.99 percent of the time so I dont have that issue out there... prob why I catch the same 2 pounder over and over again!
