Want to take the boys out Saturday evening/ Sunday. We got band tryouts then. A double header basketball game. We live east of Dallas by Ray Hubbard. Stay and fish mother Hubbard or go to else where I know the fishing has been tough as of late.

Wow. Have 2 boys with exact same age. Wondering the same thing
How come I keep catching small fish when every product I buy is supposed to catch more and bigger fish?

Honestly, just go spend the day fishing and enjoy it. When I fish with my kids catching is a bonus, I just enjoy spending the time with them. That being said if you can get to a power plant lake that will be your best bet.

Welsh is good right now. And if I were taking my kids, that's where Id go. Mentioned in another post, tie a split shot fluke on for them. Great for a kid, cause all they have to do is cast it and drag it around. And it will get bit!

That being said if you can get to a power plant lake that will be your best bet. Well thats great and everything. I love spending time with my kids too but if we are not catching they get bored and they start whining and complaining. My oldest one is obsessed with fishing and he wants to catch. Especially that we havent been fishing in months

Have you tried a pay for catch catfish place? They catch, you pay, they clean, and you fry.
For kids this is a really cheap and good way to get them hooked. Don't ask me how I know.

This and let them pick up the boat ramp fee. Keep lights off at ramp and they will have a great time.
