Hey ya'll, My Ultrex is acting up...
It only has TURN ASSIST going right and you have to Force it to go back to the left (Sometime locks up completely)
I took apart the Head (Everything looks good)
Remove the Pedal and bottom plate cover...cables looks good...no abnormal wear or kinks/binding
It's like the Motor only wants to go 1 way???
Can you take the Pedal apart? I see a switch on the back and it appears to be one on the front as well...Maybe it's out?
Anyone have any experience with this ?
The Power/Gas button on the pedal is also locking up/Sticking- continuing to power after I take my foot off but I feel like these are 2 different issues...But scarry when I cant turn-already crashed once!
Thank ya'll!

I would run it by a warranty center. You might get it fixed for free, but if they see you have been tinkering with it, your warranty may be voided.

Same thing with mine on Rayburn after no issues since bought first month they came out. Take it by nearest warranty dealer...10min fix There is a switch in there that had some issues
I just used my remote and spot lock until I could get it fixed ....still best thing I've ever had on my boat

It is a known issue. Same thing happened to mine. Simple warranty fix. Maybe just a coincidence but my malfunction occurred after I charged the batteries with the unit still turned on. Thunderstorms that night and there may have been an electrical surge? That is the only time I have ever plugged in the charger with the unit on. And I usually remove all power from the trolling motor when I charge the batteries.

Mine did exactly the same thing on a trip to Toledo Bend. Luckily I had brought my Fortrex with me. Only took a week to get fixed here in Dallas which was great because I didnt want to have to ship that big heavy thing...

Mine did it... it was a broken cable where the cables connect to the tm shaft. The little ball on the end of the cable broke off. It would turn one way with the pedal, and Id have to turn the other way with the remote.

They have since upgraded the cables quite a bit. So, you might be better off spending the $12 for each new cable and getting the newer versions. Vs getting the older ones. .....hopefully the older ones are no longer even available.

The old cables were the exact some ones in the maxum and fortrex. Mine broke and ordered more but I robbed the cables out of my old maxum until they came in. The new upgraded cables looked identical to the old ones. I think most of the cable issues are caused by the tm getting in a bind and still pressing on the pedal. That motor has a lot of power. Mine weakened when the sonar wire caught on the height agjustment knob. Think it may have happened a few times before but never realized what it was. Cable eventually broke.

Same length, same color, same overall diameter. The difference is the quality of the stainless steel in the cable itself. Its stronger.

There is a control board in the head for the motor assist. Most likely that
