What kind of battery do you use for your fish finder? Is it lead acid or lithium ion? Can it be recharged? How many amp hours is it?
What did you use for a box to protect it and connectors?

I use a 7 amp-hour AGM battery like you would find in a deer feeder. I have it in a simple plastic case, and it works fine. It easily last all day, and may last 2, but I haven't tried that.
I actually have a few on my work bench that have never been used, if you are looking for one.

Ive tried deer feeder, agm, and battery tender lithium My favorite so far Example of 16mAH LiPO4 battery You will need a balance charger and Id recommend hxt connectors to make wiring easier Example of HXT to T-terminal adapter. There are different HXT sizes, so choose the specific size for the battery

I use the Binford 2000 but I don't recommend it. It's so powerful it can open up worm holes and suck you in.
Seriously if you want to know what to run, tell us what fish finder you have. If possible look in the manual at the specs and see what the max amp draw is. Then tell us how many hours you want to use it at one time.
There is a science behind batteries and how the perform with what you use and it's not Joe Blow saying he uses X. If you choose to just listen to Joe Blow and go buy X. Then you might end up having to buy another X. Then another X. Then another X. Then realize you should have bought the Y.

I am looking at the Lowrance Hook2 Triple Shot 7" display. Trying to get ideas of what to look into so can be prepared when black Friday comes around.

With a 7" display, if you fish for more than 6hrs at a time, I'd want a total of around 14-16Ah
You could accomplish this with two 7-8Ah deer feeder batteries: either in parallel or just switch one out when the other one quits.
or, you start looking at the 12V 16Ah LiPO batteries designed for big remote controlled drones
Id start with two 7-8Ah deer feeder batteries and just switch them out when one quits. This is the most cost effective, easiest wiring option, and only requires a simple/basic lead acid battery charger. See how you like it.

I run a Lowrance Elite 7ti with totalscan and use a nocqua 10ah battery. I can get two days use out of it usually.
