Just curious from you all. I have seen post about Evinrude and Suzuki being the only producers of new 2 cycle engines. Has Mercury quit making these engines? Such as the Pro XS.

I believe Suzuki is only making small two-strokes.
It's a shame....I absolutely love my Super Six 150.

Miss that part of early morning take-offs of the past when they all smoked. Now mostly 4s and the newer 2s are much cleaner. Still have my old 2s blower and weedeater though:)

Man, I love 'em. I'm still running an XR6. When it blows I'll rebuild it.
When it blows again I'll buy an old block and rebuild that one.

Sadly though, by the time you get there, they won't have any fuel to run it on. It will probably be E-100 and the feds regulate that nothing be produced under E-98. The motors today will be in the same boat the old carbs are today. The sad part is, the more ethanol there is the more gallons consumed. If these newer engines are putting 5% less emission in the air, but consume 25% more fuel are we gaining?

I'm not, the corn lobbyist are. I'm just stating the cold hard truth. Love the sound of the XR6, it's the Harley of the water.

It's all ridiculous. It's just like DEF in diesel pick ups. Take it all off, get better mpg and there aren't used up DEF boxes in the land fills and up and down the highway....
My wife drives a "CLEAN" Prius V (by her choice, I'm not abusive) that gets 40 mpg but burns 1 quart of oil per 1000 miles driven starting at the 80,000 mile mark. Toyota won't cover any warranty work because the usage is in spec. It's all BS

It's only a good cast if you catch a fish...
