Hey guys I need some help!

I have 1999 Triton Tr17 and want some input on a installing spot for a transducer. My picture includes two old transducers I dont use and one I use for my Helix 5. Should I replace my Helix 5 tranducer with the Helix 10 transducer? Is that decent spot for it?

Appreciate it! fish

First of all which one of the about 2 dozen versions of Helix 5 do you have and which one of the 7 versions of Helix 10??????

The picture is too dark to determine a location. Need a lighter one and another one on more of an angle to see how the transom is shaped.

I feel like it doesnt really matter what model it is, all the tranducer are pretty similar. I would like the tranducer in best spot.
Helix 5 SI Gen 1
Helix 10 SI Gen 1

If this website was a little user friendly, I could get a better resolution picture. Ill try though.

yes, it does matter which transducer. Are you trying to mount a sonar, DI, or SI transducer. If you're mounting a sonar or a DI, I would nix the back of boat and put it inside to shoot through the hull. If it is a SI, there is no need to mount it down where the current skimmer is since it isn't going to be reading at speed. It just needs to be "in the water" so a jackplate mount or mounting on the transom is good.
