I have a bass pro 100mph goretex set and the jacket is too hot during the summer for me. I would like to find a goretex jacket that is lighter as I thought they might be on sale this fall. I would appreciate your thoughts. thanks

Simms makes some good ones. I have one that I picked up on a closeout for under $100. I have used it for about 6 years now without issue.

I bought my son one from Cabelas on sale last year on Black Friday. Maybe $75. It has held up well. It got tested at Amistad last week and did not leak.

Buy the ones from Txbbq in the swap sale forum. They are real goretex and very inexpensive for what they are.

I have had good luck and long service out of the original BPS gortex suits. I prefer them to the 100mph stuff until it gets really cool out.

Top of the line is Simms Prodry. I'm not a fan of the cheaper Simms line. VERY tough to find a deal on the Prodry.

Check out the Columbia OmniTech jackets. About the same performance as GoreTex. Academy has some for around $60

I have a light weight Goretex jacket from REI. I have a heavier one but the light one gets used way more. You can also watch websites like Sierra Trading Post and Backcountry if you want to be patient and pay less. There are lot of Goretex jackets that aren't being marketed as fishing specific that will work just fine for anglers under most conditions.
