Anyone know if there are ramp closures on Canyon due thigh water? Specially ramp 23 off of cranes mill? Going tomorrow for a half day and can’t find any up to date info online, thanks.

If I remember correctly, I think 23 is still open, but I'm not sure. I think there are still several ramps open. Like you, I can't find much on ramp info on the internet. If you have a FB account, join Keep Austin Fishing and ask on there. I guarantee you'll get an answer. In fact, give me a minute and I'll ask for you then report back here.

Ok, 23 is still open, and unless we get another big surge of water, most ramps should be opening up.

Awesome, thanks you sir. I need to go practice my casting because I’m pretty sure not much will be biting, but I’m getting cabin fever!

I used ramp 6 yesterday. 7 and 2 were closed. Saturday water was up 914 - fished backs of mid lake creeks/coves caught 2 b4 sunrise topwater thought I might be onto something - but no... Next fish on shallow crankbait around 11. Yesterday checked backs of creek - nothing fluke/topwater/shallow crank, water had fallen a foot, caught a couple 10-15FOW main lake point. Water uplake was about 3ft clarity( potters and above), clear water downlake, didn't try upriver. I will be out there tomorrow also. and water was 68deg

Thanks Wes, any of y’all Canyon folks recommend a closer ramp if coming up from SA on 281? Specially one with a courtesy dock. I’ve just always gone to 23, but surely there is one on the south side of the lake that would be closer to San Antonio?

I go up 281 as well and oddly enough they are all about the same. I use 23 or turkey creek depending on which end of the lake I want to fish. Both are clean with courtesy docks and free.

I've gone up 281 before but I always go I35. The closest ramp to my house is Little Jacobs, but I much prefer #6 in Tom Creek, so I always go there. Depending on traffic, it's either a couple minutes longer, or a couple minutes shorter. It's weird, most of the ramps on Canyon are all about the same distance from my house, give or take a few miles/minutes. But I don't think Little Jacobs is open. I know #6 is open in tom Creek.

Mike, 23 is public access with a dock. Thought the subdivision was gated though, is it not?
