Looking to go out there this weekend and was wondering if ya'll locals could tell me the lake's condition with all the rain we have had. Will it be dangerous for this weekend? Has the lake been coming up and if so how much? I was looking at the Texas Lake Levels website and it hasn't been updated sense the 15th. Thank you in advance.

I had guide trips or classes this past Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We did not go any further north than the mouth of the Attoyac and went as far south as Caney. We stayed generally on the main lake and there really wasn't any indication of the lake changing due to heavy rains. The further up the rivers you go, the water will get muddier and I don't know how much the fish will have acclimated to the environment change but the majority of the lake should be good. That is pretty typical for Sam Rayburn. The water levels have come up a little bit but that is negligible most of the time with the exception of the spawn. As far as safety goes, you wont need to worry about floating debris. The usual dangerous/stumpy areas are the same. You can watch the Ken Smith videos to get an idea of where you can and can't run.
As far as the fishing goes, numbers have been pretty good but size has been an issue for everyone as indicated by the lack of big fish this past weekend in the Sealy Big Bass. Every day is changing right now as it gets cooler and the fishing is getting better every day because the shad is grouping up.
I have this Friday - Sunday available if you are interested in a catching trip or an Elite Angler Academy class.

Clark Reehm (479)970-3388 Water up Attoyac was starting to get off Saturday. Lots of Giant Sylvania was starting to get washed out and floating around. Fishing was pretty tough for me and my dad Saturday and Sunday. I would say lake had come up about a foot in the last 10 days. Places that were solid mats of Hydrilla you could swim a jig or spinnerbait over. Clark was there a guy in a white boat near you that faught a big fish for a few minutes on Friday that ended up being a big carp? If so that was me. How much is your catching trips and Elite class?

Yes sir Capt. Bryan. We were actually coming over to fish those brushpiles that you were sitting on but you were there so we pulled up on to some others. The Friday before we caught a 6lber on the deepest of those two tops on a big worm.
I charge $500 a day for a catching trip or an Angler Academy class. That price is for a full day for 1 or 2 people. Feel free to call me with any questions you may have as well.

I didnt actually fish the brushpiles, I found and marked them after I found a large school of fish on the break next to the river channel swing. Caught 4 bass and a carp there on a jigging spoon. Planned on hitting the brushpiles during Sealy Tournament but wind was a little much. Good job on the videos with Ken Smith.

The Angelina is muddy but from the looks of it the rain hasn't brought it up very much at all.
