Thought he hit him right on target, spent a day and a half searching with nothing. 3 days later this is what pops up on the camera!! Damn nerves can get the better of yah

If that shot was from a ground blind its a bad shot,deer may have jumped the string at the last moment. Although you would think it would have at least clipped the spine. If the shot was from a very high treestand it should have been a lethal shot.Arrow must have passed through a void between the spine and vitals.

I could be wrong but I do not think there is a void between spine and vitals, looks like he shot right above the spine, either way they are some tough animals.

A .243 would have killed it, field dressed, skinned, and shoulder mounted that deer with 1 shot.
