I am new to bass fishing, but I know a guy who's willing to teach me the ropes. Problem is, he's not from Texas, so whats the best place around DFW to catch them from the bank? I'm thinking about Grapevine, since I go carp fishing there sometimes, but I'm not sure where exactly to go for bass. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I would try ponds !! Alot of ponds all over North Texas have been stocked, or hold LMB !! Try small spinerbaits, and Rat L Traps !! I have the best luck with white colored SBs, and chrome colored RLTs !! If your in the GP area let me know, I know of several local ponds that produce good size LMB !! Good Luck !!

I'm about 10 minute drive from GP. Any small ponds I can hit for LMB's? Thanks.

Aragorn - if you're familiar with Colleyville, believe it or not, there are a series of ponds of 26 and a mile or so South of Hall Johnson. You have to go behind a Texaco and through a bit of residential areas but the LMB bass in there are good size. For the size of the ponds, the fishing is a lot of fun. I go out there as often as I can since I drive past it everyday to work. I'll look for the name of the park/ponds on my way home from work today.

Grapevine is probably the best option for bank fishing especially with the recent rains, once the water clear a bit you should be able to catch them in the flooded timber and grass.

If you can try dove road it ends at the lake get on the point and figure out how to worm fish. Any color of zoom baby brush hog texas rigged. Usually will land some fish. If not a worm fan try a smokey joe quarter ounce rattle trap. Thats all my dad ever uses at the grap. I always catch bigger ones with worms though. Good luck

They call it fishing, not catching for a reason..

Just one cast and you could have your name in the books!

I'll be glad to help you or anyone, Rau Hubbard, Grapevine, or Lake Dallas, ( Lewisville ).

Mark

I'll be at Lake Dallas tomrrow, Sunday, 2pm 407 up to the gate, park in the sports field parking and walk or pay 7 to enter at the boat ramp and go to the flooded willows.
