3 siblings, two of which are bringing their spouses. One is single. They are going to Hawaii to spread a parents ashes per their wish.

The middle child shouldn't have to pay. The other two should split the bill. Middle child has been ignored their whole life. It's the least they can do.

I think this drives the point home further for splitting it three ways. The accommodation cost doesn't change with spouses being left home. You are paying for the room.

Add the total bill then split into five shares. The people pay for one or more shares. Single pays one share; couples pay two.

Couples are usually viewed as a packaged deal . I would figure it would be a no brainer to split it three ways. You dont go on vacation with your wife and make her pay half and if you did it would probably come out of your money anyways .
