Why am I getting white spots on my minnkota ultrex head Are they white or a bluish white tint? If bluish white you may have a leak in the shaft that got into the motor and on the coil that is causing oxidation. It will run out of the shaft when running down the lake. I cracked my shaft when I hit a Monticello widow maker on 9 speed. Later that day when I got home I noticed the spots. They replaced everything for me.

Could also be caused by a bad ground. If youre taking about the motor end.
If its the top end, I dunno.

I havent got white spots yet but my speed dial started making noise like a clock spring when turning speed up. No noise going down. I will watch for spots. I love my ultrex though
