Aside from the Palomar Knot for drop shot, does tying a specific knot for each presentation matter? I believe knot. Pun intended.

Practice makes perfect.
Big proponent of staying with one knot, and tie it the same way every time.
Staying with one knot, you'll get more efficient and better at tying it.

For me it's the doubled uni--very versatile like the palomar.
Doubled uni can be used for drop shot and if you cinch it down before it gets to the hook eye, can be used as a loop knot also.

I did use a doubled snell for a while on straight shank flipping hooks, but I was not convinced the theoretical hook angle/ leverage benefit of the snell/doubled snell made a difference.....and I didn't like tying the doubled snell.

We use snell knots on our circle hooks for all of our catfishing

Loop knot for top water and crank baits. Makes tons of difference!

I use a snell knot on Tx rigs with a tungsten weight. It lets the weight knock against the hook eye, for added noise, and it doesnt crush or cut the knot or line. 90% of other presentations get a Palomar. The remaining get a simple Trilene knot.
