Hey all, Just caught this 3.5 pound coho tonight. Caught it with a Blue Fox strobe rainbow trout pattern in about 10 feet of water. Feisty fish, fought a LOT harder than a bass the same size would. My spool was screaming a couple of times. I'm surprised at how hard these little fish fight. Action and sunset photo :): Tight lines, Mike.

Very cool Mike!
I was lucky enough to fish near Prince Rupert BC in the late 90's and caught a ton of 8-10 lb Coho and one 34 lb Chinook and one 14 lb Chum...all on single action reels (knuckle busters if you aren't careful). Salmon fishing is great if you are into them...I returned the next year and got one bite in 5 days...ouch. Fortunately we caught quite a few Halibut but of course it is not the same as catching salmon. Both trips were with customers so at least my company picked up the tab...
I would love to go back but it is just too expensive!

yes- they are great eating
Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

Thanks all. Sounds like fun, Hard Rain I catch and release, so I actually don't know what brown trout taste like. Tight lines, Mike.
