We routinely have vessels sink or get swamped on Lake Ray Hubbard. It just doesn't get on the news too often. The amount of poor decisions made on the water is a lot higher than the general public is aware.
I personally have made at least a dozen calls since early summer, where there were vessels sunk, sinking or capsized. Fortunately, there were no major injuries or deaths related to any of those calls this year. We have also had several drownings on the lake this year , but none associated with any sunken vessels.
All that being said, when the water is warm it's not as big of a deal, now that the water and air temps will be cooling, the danger is highly escalated for serious injury and even death.
Please be diligent and make sound and safe decisions when it comes to boating / fishing in the cooler months...
