Been using a trailer for 7 years now Up until two years ago; I’d inflate to the psi indicated on the side of the tire (85psi) I’d notice that the tires would wear out quickly in the middle of the tire—theyd last maybe a year Backed off to 65psi and this did help, but still noticing that it’s the middle of the tire that wears out relatively quickly (almost no wear on the other sections of the tire)
Anyone inflate to less than 65psi? I’m thinking 50psi should be sufficient—utility trailers and kayaks are light (maybe 400lb total)—these tires are designed for carrying heavy loads (1500+lbs)

Does it have a ST before the tire size? If so you need to fill it to the labeled max psi. It's designed to run that way and can blow out if under pressured.

OK, but it’s like driving on basketballs at 85psi with the trailer bouncing off every little bump
Not complaining. I’ll go back to 85psi

When I built my kayak trailer I looked for the lightest leaf springs I could find that fit. I took off the 1800# springs and replaced them with 900# springs and that helped take the hard bounce out of my trailer.

New leaf springs are not $$$ and really helped the ride on my trailer. I’m running 15” radials on mine and 32 psi.
I've never been good, But I've been Lucky! I don't Lie or Exaggerate, but sometimes I remember BIG!

Thanks; softer leaf springs is a great idea.
