I am going to fish lake Hawkins on Sunday for the first time anything I need to watch out for like dose it have a lot of trees

From my experience on Hawkins... the south end of the lake is very opened but if you are headed up north towards the 2869 bridge make sure you stay in the boat lane while running. The boat lane should still be marked with Red round Bouys and starts about half way between south end and bridge.

Watch out for the rebar somebody drove in the stumps. Not sure the water level but last time I was there they were about 1-2 ft. above the water level.

We went to Hawkins on Friday. First time. My Wife caught a chain pickerel and four small dinks. I struggled with only one pickerel myself. I got two blow ups on frog but nothing to the boat. It looks so fishy but we couldn't get anything going. I was very disppointed.
