Im possibly getting a used Garmin 73SV and the transducer that is with it is the long bar shaped one, I believe the model is GT30-TM. I want to mount this up at the bow and use it on my trolling motor but Im not sure if I can. Ive seen the Garmin trolling motor adapter but I havent had any confirmation that it will work with that particular transducer. At almost $300 for the proper Garmin trolling motor specific transducer Im really hoping that I can adapt the transducer that will come with the unit to work.....any help with this?

So I had to call shield and saver and the only way to mount the GT40-TM, which is actually what I have not the GT30, would be to cut the skeg off of the TM, use the saver plus another part to put it all back together, so around $290 of parts. Unfortunately there really isnt much of another option, the smaller GT52-HW is not compatible with the non-Chirp unit.....any other ideas?

The only issue I have with that is I do use 2D sonar in conjunction with the DV and SV. So not having that will be problematic for me....

To keep the SV capability I have only one choice and that is to use the CV40-TM that I already have. None of the other ones that have been suggested allow to keep full functionality. I ended up ordering the TSS kit which has a replacement skeg for my TM because I will end up having to cut off the factory one.....I was between a rock and hard place on this deal unfortunately. Ill post up some pics when I get it installed, its actually a pretty well engineered deal, I just was hoping to avoid cutting on my TM.
