It has been two heck of a wet months for September and October. Picked up 1.50" of rain in the back yard gauge yesterday. Watching the news the Nueces,Llano,South Llano,Upper Guadalupe,Sabinal,San Saba,and the upper Colorado Rivers are all above flood stage. Also a lot of creeks are over their banks as well. Looks like finding a place to fish this fall will be a challenge? How will this effect the fall bite?

A lot of places I fish have been flooded out. Both the Nueces Canyon and the Sabinal Valley are not fish able and it will be a few weeks before they are fish able again. Leo aka Gar 1970 is flooded inside his ranch by the W.Nueces River. He sent me pictures yesterday showing the W.Nueces and Nueces rivers completely out of their banks. He also showed me pictures of a flooded Camp Wood TX. He stated that FM 55 was completely shut down yesterday due to flooding. That area got HAMMERED! Fall fishing will be very much affected by the flooding in those areas. So much for fishing that area.


Side Note: On the bright side this should due wonders for the spring time bite in both the Canyon and the Valley!

Just checked the drought map and we are still listed as abnormally dry. we got 1.4" this month and lakes and ponds are still low. Not much runoff in the past 4 months. Texas is so big we have floods and extreme drought all at the same time depending on where you are.
Prayers for the folks that are flooded.

Looks like I will not be fishing the Canyon anytime soon. Next Spring will be the next time.

Side Note: I heard that the Frio in Uvalde CO. went over it's bank!

Looks like Chuck BAF is going to have to adjust his fall fishing plans.

Saw on the news a big wall water is making it down the Guadalupe from Kerrville.

We all are going to have to make adjustments.
