I made a stake out pole out of 1/2 inch sch40 pvc pipe. I would like to add a pointed metal tip I have tried searching for these with no luck. anyone know where I could find one?
I am open to buying something inexpensive and cutting the tip off. Just needs to be able to go into end of 1/2 inch pvc pipe.

I did mine with a sharpened wooden dowel rod that I inserted into the PVC and put a screw through it to make sure it stayed in place. I then covered the thing in JB Weld and let it dry and applied another coat. It has worked fine for me for 2 years so far. I had considered using a piece of metal electrical conduit ( I think its called EMT) and cutting the end at an angle but I had the dowel in the garage and decided to try it.

I like the wood dowel covered in jb weld to increase longevity. Which jb weld product did you use?

At $100+ for 2 broadhead tips that defeats the purpose for building my own pole.

I used the original cold weld that they sell at Home Depot. Im sure I didnt pay more than $6-7 for it. I was doing it as economically efficient as I could. If I can figure out how to get a pic on here from my phone Ill put a pic up of it

Thanks for the thoughts and links.
I do plan on adding hardwood dowel inside the pvc to address flexibility and a friend is turning a tip for me out of hardwood dowel. I will cover the exterior wood with weld bond as mentioned above. This should address my short term needs.
I will look at the fiberglass tree stake and compare to the price of internal dowels
I do see that down the line I will most liekly purchase a stake out pole. Since getting my new kayak, have several things higher on the list that have recently been or need to purchase in short term.

I bought a golf club at a garage sale for $1 and sawed off the head. Works great!

I put hardwood dowels in the 3/4 inch pvc and inserted the hardwood tip my friend turned for me. Secured with a couple of screws and covered tip and screws with a couple coats of weld bond. Slipped part of a pool noodle over the pvc so would float if I dropped it. The top is a T with short pvc capped on each side to act as handle and keep water out. Meant to try it this weekend but Saturday morning in the shallows there was no wind and the rest of my fishing was in deeper water. Did a few tests with it and it penetrates much better and the dowels make it a lot stiffer. The float worked as I lost it at some time fighting high winds and getting my kayak back to the parking lot Sunday night. Went back to look for it and it had washed up on shore a little ways down from where I came ashore. Many thanks for your help and suggestions.

I have an old driver with a set of clubs I don't use anymore. Thinking about cutting the head off and using that. Did you do anything to plug the end after removing the head?

Gave my stake out pole a good workout today in the wind this morning while messing with my jug lines Went into the bottom well and held me in place while getting the fish off and rebaiting. Also convienent as a push poll to get away from the bushes, Adding the hardwood dowels in the middle gave it enough rigidity to hold me in place or use as a push poll.
I had a paddle leash attached but the bungee line separated from what looks like a shrink wrap connector to line tied to pole. Tied a knot in the elastic to better attach to rest of leash. Now holds with no issues.
