The Cleburne State park on park road 21 (off of highway 67 just south of cleburne lake) holds the state record redear. My uncle, Steve Schick caught the lake record redear for Cleburne State Park back in 1993 !! It weighed .70#, and was 9" long, but it is NOT the STATE record !! The state record was caught at Town Lake, in 1997, it weighed 2.99#, and was 14" long !!  Here are some pictures of some we caught weekend before last !! Caught them all on bacon. We caught about 50 in 3.5 hours, but only kept the ones that swallowed the hook. MMM MMM Good !!

I have heard alot about Lake Fairfield having huge bream. Never actually fished for them there though.

Oh sorry didnt exactly answer your question !! Try small stock ponds, or city ponds. We were having the best luck casting just past the hydrilla about 5 feet out or so !! We caught most of them on bacon, but they would also hit corn every once in a while !! We attatched a small split shot about 6"-8" below a cork, and the hook about 6"-8" below the split shot !! If your ever in the Grand Prairie area, holler at me, I dont mind sharing my spots !!

I will add that last summer we caught MONSTER bream at lake Bastrop. We found a perfect spot that had a BIG boulder in teh water and hydrilla close to it. I was dropping crickets bewteen the rock and the weeds. The big bream would dart out of the weeds, attack, and then try to run under the boulder!
We ate good!

I've always had good luck at Joe Pool. Really, where? All I've ever caught are dinks.
That's why they call it fishing and not catching!

where can I get some crickets in the metroplex? the pet stores are expensive and they are little. any bait shops?

Canton city lake has bydrid bream in it. Southlake in farmersville has some good hydrib bream along the damn in about 8-12ft a water.
