Just saw on twitter about Scott Martin saying its been stressful about choosing so I guess he might have gotten an invite. Scott's post and video did its job. It got views. But it was defitently click-bait. He says it was a stressful 2 weeks making a decision but then says he never got an invite. Yeah what a decision he had to make. Real complicated. I thought it was pretty interesting. Sounded like he really was hoping for an invite. Im surprised he didnt get one.

I want to know why some of those BASS guys declined invites?! I can see Feiders point as he is just being a rebel but was it just short sightedness on Lowen, Benton and Blaylock??? and Zaldains wife is posting on FB about some legal reason he stuck with BASS?, so much of this story we will probably never know... Know one thing they made 5 other guys very happy! I have to believe that it was short sightedness on their part. These guys may now be able to make a better living on the Elites than they could before, but one thing is for sure, any win on the Elites Series over the next couple of years will not be treated or looked at with the same respect. I think it will be much easier to win on the Elites with the smaller field than in the opens. The next thing that will be really interesting to see will be who will compose the 2019 Elite field. Look at it this way in 10 years will anyone remember whether it was a watered down classic ? Nope. Same with a blue trophy for the regular season. The field may not have the depth for a season or two, but over three to four seasons they will be ok. The object ultimately is one of two categories, you want trophies or money. The money is in BASS now A lot of the extra purse in MLF is not guaranteed. Lets say that it takes the young guns a season or two. If a Vet like Combs or Zaldain wins this year, that is a quick $100,000 in their pocket. Also it is realistic that a guy like a Combs or Zaldain has 0 entry fee's this season. That is like a $50,000 bonus right out of the gate. If they see a significant erosion of their sponsor dollars from brands changing properties and/or shifting budget spends in favor of MLF/BPT they may not have 3-4 years to rebuild.

Mark, Let's hope they have long term contracts because I agree, sponsor dollars in 2020 and beyond could be hurting. BASS has money behind it but in the end it is still a business that is dependent on sponsors.

I'm assuming the price of tackle will go up to pay back in to the sponsor companies sales revenue. That's the American way.
