I�ve seen enough to want to stay on the US side for a while, not just from this post. I�ve spent some time on boarderland beat and some blogs. It�s pretty hairy out there right now.

The violence there is no secret. In the last 8 years I know of 3 Americans shot and killed, and 4 Americans shot and not killed. (and 1 American treated for hypothermia when he jumped into the water to escape bullets) That's in addition to the 2 Mexicans mentioned by flippinskeeter and 1 Mexican who was investigating the murder of an American mentioned above who was murdered, and beheaded.
If you're cool with that kind of stuff where you fish, thats your business but I know theres a WHOLE lot less murder on my home lake.

I can't for the life of me figure out why people refuse to believe that part of the border is dangerous or that the cartel has been known to kill people for little to no reason.

I am not familiar with any of those except the hartley story ten years ago, and the night time incident under questionable circumstances about a year ago.. Do you know of any fishermen killed/shot while fishing?

I don't want this to be a he said she said discussion. Other than the two incidents I previously mentioned, both under very questionable circumstances, no fishermen have been shot on Falcon lake..
I do believe I would have heard about it..
