I have a onboard Minn Kota battery charger.... Would anybody see a problem with me splicing an extension on one of the leads... I'm designating a battery for my Humminbird graphs, and it is going to be about 2 ft further than the longest lead.

don't splice it, use a junction strip of some sort and add the wire. splicing means cutting the terminal and when you do you could damage the thermister (temp sending unit for the charger) Also, cutting the ends off will void the warranty if there is warranty left.

Dual Pro sells a kit for lengthening the leads to battery, I had to get one for my pontoon. I bet MK does too.

The Minn Kota OBCs have a section in the instructions on how to splice and lengthen the leads...if you need me to, I can take a picture of the instruction pages and text them to you.
