I'm curious how u figure the elites are so much better than flw tour guys? Have u not noticed what the guys that came over from flw have done. A few those elite series guys that have not been relevant for awhile r going to this mlf deal

My understanding is that unlike his father was he is quite the family man and doesn't want to take on multiple tours.
He makes a fantastic living from FLW, sponsers and his show so he doesn't have too.

You think? Sounds right

Your missing these five as well

Boyd Duckett
Mark Davis
Gary Klein
Dave Lefebre
Michael Neal

As for Scott Martin if he doesn't show up I think its obvious he didn't get an invite, any FLW who gets an invite will surely accept I would think just look at the payout difference in the press reports everywhere.

I just like the grass roots of the opens format of bass and flw.

Matt Arey said neither he, Thrift or Scott Martin got invites.

Despite whatever Duckett said, it has nothing to do with resume.

If that's true the invite process isn't trying to get the top anglers. You give a invite to Kelly Jordan but not Bryan Thrift who is a top 5 across all tours? Jordan has some kind of ownership. If this group ran the NFL you would look out and Jerry Jones would be lined up at wide receiver.

Cant believe Thrift didnt get an invite...

KJ was one of the original MLF guys, and still one of the best fisherman on planet earth. He's a great addition to the lineup IMO. No worries though, the guys that dont pull their weight will be replaced so its not like the initial invite means your there forever.

Some of them have done well, but I had a pro tell me when I was his marshall at an event that if you look at the cut day weights compared to the first day, there's a bigger drop on the FLW side than there is on the Elite side. He said that on the Elites, the second day cut line is almost always twice what it is on the first day, but on the FLW tour, it's usually a pound or two less than twice the first day weight.

There's also the fact that you have to flat out qualify for the Elites (outside of the 'Legend' exemptions), but the FLW tour will take folks who simply fall out of the Elites... I think that's pretty telling.

I've wanted to try to do some in-depth research on that Elite guy's claim about the cut weights to see how true it is, but you would have to look at so many tournaments to try to level-out the tournament-specific nuances like changes in weather conditions and such.

Why on earth would he leave? It's arguably one of the best gigs in the sport. He's got it made. Minimal competition, easy travel schedule, top face of the platform, good sponsors who are happy to be involved. Moving for him does nothing but introduce more downside than upside.

I understand hes done well with what hes done, I just figured he would want more and could very easily achieve more in the sport, FLW is boring!

Scott Martin was set before he ever fished a trail. His mother had money prior to Roland.

Scott fishes for the love and to help his business. Plus I believe Forest Wood is his godfather.
