To be honest, after spending 7 days on Falcon in the last two weeks I'd be surprised if there were enough boats on the lake for them to rob 3 of them. That said, on Friday I did have my first odd experience down there in 9 or 10 years of fishing the lake. We were fishing a small point in (I believe) the Salinias... plenty of bass boats near by... A Mexican in an aluminum boat came up on us pretty fast, asked how the fishing was, and then tried to sell us pot. We politely refused and then he asked for water. We gave him a bottle and he moved on. Location in the image below (there was fish there by the way) Lots of activity on the bank right there. Lots of houses, town right there, music playing loud, people cleaning tilapia, too much activity for me....although, one day we could not leave that point/ledge. We were whacking fish after fish in the 6-9lb class for like 2 hours. It was a crazy day. Best 5 went 44lbs. This was back in heyday around 2008.

We just got back from there and spent most of our time on the Mexico side, including Salado, Salinillas, agua Blanca, and coyotes and didnt see anything of the sort. Just Mexican fisherman and lots of bass. I say fake news, we didnt see anything of the sort and felt safe the entire time. Bullet, I'm glad you had a good trip and avoided the cartel however it is REAL news and I don't want anyone to let down their guard on a phrase of "FAKE NEWS" if you are heading to Falcon. It is a long story but we happened upon a meeting we did not intend to be apart of on Falcon ( Mexican side flipping bushes ) We were followed and then made a dash back to the Texas side. Several months later I had a Texas Ranger in my living room interviewing me on the event. While it was cool having a Ranger in my home the risk is real. Not fake new at all. Falcon is a great lake to fish but proceed with eyes open and ears back.

Send Jeff from Iowa over there on a recon mission. He will get it straightened out. I cant figure out why your so butt hurt to bring me up regularly, but it is what it is, your the one with a issue, good luck with that. Be sure and say hi in person some time, we most likely would get along just fine in person.. so long as your not trying to scare me to keep me off a whole damn lake. Ill be down that way in Jan, Feb, Mar. Depending on some surgery scheduling also trying for Nov 25-Dec 12 ish.

Thanks for the heads up Bigbass94. I'd rather be cautious than sorry.

Thanks for the heads up Bigbass94. I'd rather be cautious than sorry. No problem. I agree with you. Was just trying to help.

I'd recommend bringing your own. Someone who isnt me may have purchased some down there before and it was awful
