I have a Hook 7 mounted on the bow and mounted the transducer to the bottom of a xi5 Motorguide. I add an extra battery for the extra electronics load. Any ideas on how to get a clean Downscan image using those setup? I was going to ground the motor but it is a composite shaft.

I have the same setup. Keep the power wires from the TM and depthfinder away from one another helps.

I have always gotten good results from adding a ferrite choke to the trolling motor power cord. I have had it on 2 MG and 1 MK.

I do have the Lowrance wires tiie wrapped to the TM power so Ill try that. Ill have to look up information on a ferrite choke because I am not familiar with it.

also check your prop blades and prop pin.. make sure your prop pin is not bent and prop doesnt have a lot nicks. That will cause some RF noise.

Never thought about the prop vibration.

I moved the Lowrance power cord away from the trolling motor and cleaned and lightly filed the rough edges on the prop. I am still looking into the ferrite choke but what I have done seems to have helped.

Make sure you have a common ground.

Never file a stainless prop. Use a small grinder with an abrasive disc.

I was having noise issues when using downscan. Moving the power wires away from the transducer helped but didn't eliminate the problem. So I bought one of these 12vdc filters from Amazon, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000CEDZBA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and installed it on the Lowrance unit power wires. This eliminated 95% of all my noise problems. Making sure there was no connection on the grounds between the Lowrance power and trolling motor power removed the final 5% of the visible noise. This problem drove me crazy until I finally got rid of all the problem.
