Is the lake a dirty lake I have been wanting to fish it! I have just heard that if you put your boat in the lake it leaves some stuff on the hull of the boat? I do wipe it down and if I take it out there I will wipe it down as I do no matter where I take my boat! I have just heard that this lake is a dirty lake and is not good on your boat! I drive by this lake everyday on the way to work and it looks good! but dont know if I want to fish it! haha something funny though

There use to be a guy that would go out there and he would come back with a boat load of 5 plus pound bass all the time and eat them! He no longer goes out there! haha Died maybe! But no one knows haha!

Oooh well let me know about the boat thing i would really like to get out to the lake and fish it!

Thanks!

Jason, as you probably know ,the lake is seldom clear ,I think because of all the slit that has built up over the years ,I guess a good description is stained, but it doesn't stain your boat of course it isn't my boat, but Dave takes pretty good care of that ZX250 if you notice in the pics the boat is basically white, after our trip we didn't wipe it off, just drove home and parked the boat in the garage! So if it was a problem we would have run by the car -wash before putting it up!That's my take on your question,Dave if your out there, you wanna chime in?

Thanks Rudy I also have a white boat and I dont want it to get dirty and not be able to clean it! So that gives me a reason to head out there! haha... But I might just head out there today! Is there just one boat ramp? Or is there another from all the people that say they fish this lake! I have never seen one truck parked at the Boat Ramp with a trailer hooked to it! maybe they launch at a different ramp but I dont know!

Thanks

Yeah there is only one official ramp next to what we call the Channel down the street from DBU,there is literaly no incline to this ramp ,so you may have to back a ways to float the boat,it's less of a struggle if you have a buddy backing you! There is an area that you can see as your exiting the toll road going towards Grand Prarie that we have used but it not an official ramp more of launching it off the bank where there is a drop off,but looked a little shallower than usual so we opted for the
official ramp. This Saturday has been the first time I seen another boat other than ours on the lake.Texas Sensation may speak better to that he sounds like he is a regular. What I think is that the reason you may not see many trailers is that most folks have their boats tied to the roofs of their cars!lol
If you go take it easy till you get familar it is shallow.Let us know how you do,I think the areas around the dam and the river area of the lake will be the more productive.

Thanks you answered one of my next questions haha! If I go where should I start? Should I fish under the bridge? The dam? I dont really know the lake that well but is it safe to run? I can usually run my boat in water that is 2 to 3ft deep! Is this okay to run the lake? I dont really know the lake and this will be my first time on it! Anything will help! Hmmmm might just go out to Pool possibly might see if someone wants to hook up and go fishing at Mountain creek who can show me around! Anyone?

we used to launch from teh other side that Rudy is talking about but after last summer and the drought it just aint been the same especially with the cat tail that has growed up almost to the edge. also have to be carful if you try to launch there for the concrete wall that sits under the water, and the ocassional log or branch. we aint even tried to launch from there at all this year. the concrete ramp as described in Rudy's post above is accurate but you can only use 1 of the ramps the one ramp is all busted up and it don't suprise me, I've looked at it and didn't see any rebar whatsoever. Its probably best not to fish there just because it don't need any more pressure than what Rudy and his brother already gave it, and they fished it with my permission, lol. it is a shallow lake Jason so be careful if you go, there are quite a few stumps just below the surface that will open your boat up.

I used to fish out there with my 15 ft. Bass Tracker and loved it there! The bass there faught as hard as any I've caught. For a "polluted" lake they were sure healthy looking too! I'd love to get back out there soon.
