Do any of you vets remember the paper thin omelettes? Man they were good! Our cook made his special hot sauce for his favorite folks.

The omelettes were awesome. All the OJ and Milk you could drink. Good toast etc. If I was still eating in the chow halls today, I would be about 750 lbs. by now.

Midnight chow at carswell was strange. Breakfast food, frozen pizza and fried chicken.

At Langley and Tyndall they served breakfast (omelettes, eggs, french toast, bacon etc.) for the midnight meal. For a while I worked the graveyard shift. I'd go to the chowhall first, then off to work. Work from 11 to 7 am. I couldn't do it today. When it gets dark my eyelids get heavy.

apparently coddled flyboys - if there was a midnight meal in the Army it was S.O.S. with a side of S.

We had midnight chow in the Army in Iraq and Korea. Awesome if you came back off mission late you could get a decent hot meal.

As a cook, I never cooked omelettes at midnight. The boys got left overs or sandwiches.

Never got any midnight meals when I was with the 4th Inf. Div. in Vietnam.
We didn't have a mess hall in the field. I was with an artillery unit so we were always in a fire base (usually on some hill top), and we did have a mess tent where you lined up to get whatever our cook could make with dehydrated stuff (B rations). He actually could make almost anything edible.
You AF guys lived in luxury!
Family is everything! Life is precious. We don’t have forever. We have now. This moment. We can choose to love our lives now.

There is a reason us smart ones chose the air force.

When I was stationed at McConnell AFB we would get off evening shift and go to a little bar right out side the gate have a few and make it back to midnight chow. Seemed like it was always good food

There is a reason us smart ones chose the air force. Yep. The worst part was that the mushrooms were canned, and not fresh. That must have been some kind of torture invented at SERE school, because its freaking inhumane to have to eat canned mushrooms.
Team wolfs I had to perform. It took a minute to get it all in my mouth and another five to swallow it all.
