My favorite bait to bass fish with in the spring time is a Texas rigged swimming super fluke. I think it will work great for trout but I am wondering if the 5/0 wide gap hook would be ok. I’m worried if I set the hook like I do on a bass a trouts mouth might be too soft and the hook will tear out?

On the "grass walker" from Trout Support we use the 5/0 wide gaps. They do a great job with those baits.
Tight lines!
