I grew up camping this lake my whole life and only ever bank fishing. My family and I are going next weekend to camp and fish. I was hoping to get any and all tips on putting the kids on some fish. I mainly fish for blues so I have a general idea of finding some of them mainly drifting mostly but was hoping to maybe get the gets on some fast and furious fishing maybe on some sandies or anything really. I AM NOT LOOKING FOR ANYBODY'S HONEY HOLES, just some tips or info on making my first trip with my pontoon a some what successful one. Also it will be catch and release. THANK YALL in advance for any and all help.

I'd post this up in both the sandbass/hybrid section and the catfish section. Micheal Houston guides for blues on the lake/river. Several others guide for the striped fish.

I only fish that lake about 1-2 times every other year, so I'm more of an opportunist.

The best I do at whitney is chumming the coves in the evening for channels. Then catching them on shrimp or shad. That lake has some big channel cats.

Mornings I will usually troll around until something hits and fish there for the sandies or anything else will hit.

Never really done much else there.

Go to the old gas pump area at Harbor master around 11:00 at Harbor Master Marina . That is were the stripper guides clean their fish .
