Bluegills, redears? You know the big ones about the size of your hand and bigger? I love catching those as much as I like cathcing crappie, but I dont know where to go in North TX.

Was talking to my Dad this past weekend and bream fishing came up. He lives in East Texas and said that his neighbor has been going to Caddo Lake and bringing back some 8" bull bream (redears). So my recommendation would be Caddo.

Nate, Lake Athens is good, I've caught them up to 10" in there. Purtis Creek is a little closer to Dallas and I've caught them up to 9" from this small lake, with most of the big ones coming in at about 8"
I would like to try Caddo but it's a long drive.

The Cleburne State park on park road 21 (off of highway 67 just south of cleburne lake) holds the state record redear. Ive caught several nice crappie there but have never really fished for perch. I think your best bet would be to go to a pond. Hope this helps!

Lake Fork has some nice Gills as well. the lilly pads by 2946 boat ramp is the pace to get them. 154 bridge is another place to get them.

Toledo Bend if you can find them. My self and a fried bass fishing one day long time back and we ran into a big bunch of Bream. They were hitting the tail of you Texas Rigged worm so we went back to the marina and got some crickets and went back after them.
Ended up with 42 and the smallest was 3/4 pound and biggest was 1 3/4 pounds. It was a real average 1 1/4 pounds and big enough to fillet easy.
Was something I will never forget,

Texoma. Go into the Marina's. Grandpappy Point Marina had some bruisers in there along with crappie, and bass cruising the shore lines.
