I went fishing Thursday and today and the catfish were really biting on live and fresh dead shad. Largest fish I caught was 2 at 5 lbs and 1 at 4 pounds. The 5 pounders turned my kayak around a couple of times.

Was that you in the blue kayak? I was in the red nitro next to the big white center console, next to the ugly brown ranger on the lake Friday morning and we talked to a kayak guy who said we were in his spot We were putting up some great numbers, but all small fish. We were running jugs and pole fishing. Most of the fish were 1-2 pounds, but we had a couple of 4's. Between the three boats fishing on Thursday, we had about 150. We were fishing shad on the jugs, which accounted for about 70% of our fish, and stinkbait and shad on poles.

Back in town today.Fished Cedar Creek from Thursday thru Saturday. 5 boats out 100 fish a day. 50% of jugs 600yds south of Bird Island in 12 to 16ft deep. Balance in 2 to 4 foot of water anywhere there were stick ups or grass. Lots of the females still holding eggs but they were Yellowish red, looks like they were fixing to go to spawn? Big Chief did us well as they have in the past 5 years.

I have a question. I went out Saturday evening to do some catfishing at night. But I wasnt able to catch any shad. Do you typically catch shad in the same places in the evening as you would in the morning? Also do you fish the same places as you would fish in the morning? And this was on CC.
Thanks
You Betcha
