Just wanted to let you know that Humminbird/MinnKota Rep Jeff Kolodzinski nicknamed �Kolo� is attempting to break his own world record for the most fish caught in 24 hours. There is a live feed on Facebook and you can find the feed by searching for Marathon Man Fishing. He started at 9:00 am this morning and will be fishing til 9:00am Wed. He is doing it for a couple of great causes. He does it for our men & women who are serving in the Armed Forces and our Veterans. It also benefits the �Fishing For Life� foundation. He is truly a Class individual and one of the nicest people I have ever met. Let�s cheer him on.

So...how many fish is it gonna take to set a new record?

The official record is 2143 but he has caught 2649 before. The 2143 was certified by Guinness Book of World Records. He is the current record holder. He was running under record pace this morning so he moved to another location. It cost him about an hour of fishing. The video reception is not as good in his current location so the video will sometimes lock up. Jeff is one of the classiest people I have ever met. He is doing it for a couple of great causes.

I've been on walleye lakes in Canada where it could be done. Usually get bit within seconds of hitting the bottom.

bottom, seconds.... Id say not likely look at the video of this guy, he is using a cane pole basically and catching them as fast as he dips it in the water.

I truly believe that Johnny Purcell back in the 80s caught over 3000 yellow bass and sand bass in one day on Ray Hubbard. He was on my Humminbird Field Staff when he told me about it. He could catch them.
He said it was the world record but he never applied for it.
Anyone that knew Johnny probably would have believed it.

If you meant Johnny Procell I believe it. Outstanding man and fisherman.

Johnny was a great guy and an awesome angler but 3.000 fish in one day is 5 fish per minute for Ten Hours straight. I also highly doubt it was more than a 10 hour day.

If he had multiple anglers in his boat I would say that was possible but not for one man solo. If you think about the length of time it takes to make a short (40') cast and reel it in, it would be virtually impossible to cast, hook, unhook, and recast 5X a minute for 10 hours straight.

Not saying Impossible, just highly unlikely.

so did he do it?!?! haven't found anything while googling besides starting on the 11th and ending on the 12th. anyone know?
