This obviously is aout the shooting.
I have two friends who used to lay vinyl and tile many years ago.
They went out on a job and followed the directions which were--
go to the address through the back unlocked gate and through the unlocked patio door and lay new vinyl in the kitchen.
The moved the table and chairs and was about to start when a man walked up to them with a gun.
They were in the wrong house.They gave him their employees number who explained they were not doing anything wrong,just made a mistake.
I keep thinking if this was that lady cops house, would my friends have been shot???

I posted the other day that I have done the exact thing the cop did except thankfully the door was locked and after a few seconds of my fob not opening the door I realized I was on the wrong floor. And no, I had not been drinking I was just distracted when I pulled in the garage and drove up to the wrong floor. Once you�re in the garage every floor is just about identical looking.

I went into the wrong duplex in College one night. I was laying on the couch for a while when I finally realized it wasn�t mine. I left very quietly, pushed the truck out of the driveway and went one more block down the street to my house. No, I should not have been driving.

How did the cop not notice the apartment she was entering had a bright red welcome mat outside the door? Her apartment does not have one.

I checked into a hotel once and was given the key card to my room. It worked. The only problem was that someone else was already In that room. Could have been disasterous.
I also got lost on a very large ranch near Comstock. Found what I thought was the correct deer camp. Went ahead on in and went to bed. Finally when the true hunters of that camp showed up (in town having fun), it was discovered I was in somebody else�s cabin. Ridicule followed but they didn�t shoot me and let me bunk for the night.

It happened to me twice. One time a buddy and I went to go see a movie. He had a camaro that looked like every other camaro. He went to the bathroom on our way out and I told him I�d be waiting in the car. I went to what I thought was his car and sat in the passenger seat. Few minutes later the drivers door opened and some guy sat down. We both looked at each other at the same time and we were both like...Who TF are you? I quickly realized what I did, explained it to him and we both had a laughed about it. Then another time a buddy invited me over to drink some beer and hang out. I had only been to his place one other time and it was an old army type berricks were all the buildings were just square and looked the exact same. I see the door half open and I hear what I think are my buddies hanging out inside. I barge through the door with a case of beer in hand and quickly realized I didn�t recognize anyone. Wrong apartment! I explained and again we all had a laugh about it. I felt really stupid both times, but at least I did t get shot! Nor did I shoot anyone.

I couldn�t tell you if we have a doormat or not in front of our door. It�s night time and she�s tired.

Seems like she was way too quick with the trigger...even for a civilian, and considering she was a trained officer I would hope there's more to this.

I'm waiting for more details to see if the man may have been startled and tried to attack or something.

Have you ever been walking and tripped over something that you didn�t see? I have, it�s called not paying attention.

I was thinking the same thing at work today. Couldn�t tell what my doormat looks like but I know we have one.

Put yourself in her shoes. She didn�t know she was in the wrong apartment. So picture yourself pulling into your own driveway. You walk up to your own front door. It�s ajar. You have a chl and are carrying. You draw your weapon and go inside. (So far I�ve been in this situation). Once you get inside you see somebody you don�t know in YOUR home. You shoot. That�s what you do. They aren�t supposed to be there, and they are there illegally. The only difference between this scenario and what we know about the officers is that she went to the wrong door.

I can guarantee you, the time I came home to an open door, and I walked in with my weapon, I�d have immediately shot somebody if they were standing in the living room. In the moment, it�s never too quick on the trigger when you believe the other person is there to do you harm.

If this had been her apartment, and was a burglar and she shot him, we�d all be cheering this as a �good guy with a gun� story. She made a horrible mistake that will haunt her forever.

Our doormat is dark and looks like it's been walked on. That's about all I can tell anyone about it.

My guess is in the end if there is video we�ll see her get out of her car, grab a bag and throw it over her shoulder, and then never look up from her cell phone as she enters the building.

The reason she did not see the mat is because she had groceries in her arms. That is what she said. You say quick trigger. She told him to stop twice. Its easy to be a computer cop. Google the shooting in California. See how fast it can happen

Was it a hobo? I've tripped over a hobo before. Wonder if it was the same hobo.
