Looks like one of our new batteries is bad. If anybody happens to be on the water currently, I’m halfway between harbor one and the island and could use a tow in to the marina. Currently trying to get back via trolling motor. It’s going very slowly.

Somehow, after trying for the last 2 hours, the motor just started. Whew. I had stopped making any progress. The wind picked up and was in my face. What a relief.

How likely is that on a new boat? This is a 2019 that we’ve had for 3 weeks. It’s got less than 10 hours on it.
I fished about a week ago, and left the battery at close to full charge. When I got there today it wouldn’t start. Hooked it up to the charger and it showed 9% and 10.8v (as I recall). I checked all of the light switches, arerators, etc. nothing had been left on this week. So I plugged it into the charger and charged on full speed for about 45 minutes while I caught bait (we’ve got a slip, so I just left it there plugged in) and got the boat ready it got up to 70% and 12.9v so I unplugged it and it started right up. Made a 10 minute boat ride out to the fishing spot, fished for about 30 minutes, and when I tried to start it, it wasn’t. That’s when I started making my trip in via trolling motor. If the battery is discharging that quickly, it’s gotta be a bad battery right?

What size battery? What size motor and what accessories are you running on it too? I've seen dealers stick batteries in new boats that are way too small to handle the draw of a big motor plus accessories

Sounds like you might have something putting a continuous current drain on your battery. If you have an automatic bilge pump, that would be a prime suspect...they have a habit of sticking in the "on" position. If that isn't it, I would go buy a cheap clamp-on ammeter (you can get them from WalMart online) and see if there is a constant current draw from the battery with everything turned off. If there is, start disconnecting things until the current draw stops. BUT before I did all that, I would take my battery to a parts store and have it load tested to rule out a bad battery.

Could be a starter solenoid, or the starter in general. I am currently dealing with the same issues you described, also on EML Could be. After it cooled off it started. Either that or a bad connection. A dead battery usually doesn't regain power to restart. Take it to the dealer.

We’re taking the battery in today. If it’s not a bad battery, cabelas will get to bring a trailer to the lake and bring it back in to figure it out.

I would take to dealer. Side note keep a small set of jumper cables or quick jump in your boat. I’ve had to use mine several times
