I know on anything with multiple carbs.....they have to be synced. Think these might need to be?

and that's showing you the problem

its getting too much fuel. a Carb has a messed up float

Is that carb/fuel leak/drip still going on ?

***************************

ow, if I go from idle to WOT on the hotfoot, it will very slightly hesitate and then take right off.

this is because now the carbs are wide open, sucking enough air to "lean" out the over rich mixture.

Thanks for the input. The carb drip was fixed.

I think if I adjust the air/fuel screw a 1/4 turn per carb and test run until I get it resolved that will work?

I'd try setting them to factory spec first.

tell us... what about your fuel pump...how does it work on a motor like yours..

I had similar but not exact same issues, much, much different motor. My pump is mechanical/diaphragm
fuel pump rebuild fixed it.

This is a long shot, but check and see if your roller sleeve came off on your timing cam. On the roller that advances the timing and butterflies opening, there should be a clear plastic sleeve on it. Over time they can break down and just fall off. That could be causing your timing not to advance that little bit that it needs in the first part of acceleration.

Thanks Jacob.

Yes, the roller is there. One of the first things I checked.

But, my timing advance pointer was off as seen in the pic. I have it adjusted now and will try and lake test it tonight.

Let me know how this works out, please. I have a Vindicator 200 that is doing the same thing. Difference is, if I punch in the chrome, it shoots off. If I don't choke it, it just dies. Traileritis.

Check the gas tank vent tube and check-valve for blockage, maybe has some water or gunk build-up blocking the air flow.
