Many thanks MAK747--i couldn't find that tech bulletin but the search did lead me to discussions of Live Network Sonar and how it would only work with software update 56 and above (which Gen2Touch doesn't have--by Lowrance's choice i imagine). However, when you say i can display two different frequencies from the same transducer are you saying the Totalscan can generate 83 and 200 simultaneously as well as the 455/800 for the structure ? If so i guess that's a decent consolation prize.

Totalscan Question:

I have the TS mounted on the Trolling Motor. Settings have the TS as the transducer. Why are the depth readings on a split screen different? It can be from 1' to almost 2' difference between DI and 2D. I'm puzzled. Also, offset settings are zero. Thanks.

Im installing a HDS g3 on bow and a Carbon on console, both 12" units. Total scan transducer on trolling motor and structure scan 3d transducer plus a 2d/200khz pod transducer on back of boat. I have the graphs installed and I was contemplating installing and connecting all the wires myself. Couple of questions I have that TFF may be able to assist with.

NEMA 2000 power supply. manual says "do not connect power cables to same terminals as engine start battery or other high current devices" So don't connect NEMA 2000 power to cranking battery?

NEMA power supply should be connected to a key on power supply. I can find this under the console but all accessories are powered off cranking battery. Are they saying just don't connect to cranking battery at battery terminals where starter is connected?

Similar question for power supply to 3d module and two units.

Is it best to run dedicated power supply/wires from battery to graphs and module and if so how would I get that to be
on key on circuit.

Yes you can view all four if you set up a 4 split screen
83 and 200 on sonar and 455 and 800 on di and si

Cannot do it with the SS3D

If you are only conecting the two units I dont think you need the NEMA 2000 system. Just connect the two units together with an eithernet cable.

Thanks Dwight Hardy--can i set up a 4 split with any combination of frequencies i want? e.g. low chirp, high chirp, 83 & 200 ? that might be interesting to see which gives best detail on our lake...

Not sure on that but I would think so.
Someone who knows may answer.
Best way to find out is try. Only takes a minute to find out.
Let us know.

Haven't got the boat into the water yet so haven't been able to try a 4 split on sonar but i did call Lowrance tech support to ask if this could be done. If you can believe it they told me Gen 3 can't even do side by side sonar split with 2 different frequencies--notwithstanding the manual says you can--that was the level of competence of the tech rep i got -- she asked me which page in the manual said this--so i just thanked her and said adios as it was pretty clear i wasn't going to get a competent answer.

does the most current Lowrance 3D transducer have traditional 2D imaging? I get different answers every time I ask someone. Russell Marine has a you tube video that says it does not have traditional 2D imaging, but video is couple years old.

No the 3D transducer does not have traditional 2D sonar integrated. The only Lowrance transducer which has Downscan, Sidescan and 2D is the Totalscan transducer.

ok--cannot simultaneously transmit any more than 2 sonar frequencies + the two structure scan frequencies--"Pages" will only allow you to drop in 2 sonar screens then it's not available any more--so no 4 split of all the sonar frequencies.
