Been the toughest summer here on Fork that I've ever experienced. Most of that came from being hardheaded and stubborn and using the same baits that have always worked. I've now switched to a smaller bait and quantity has picked up drastically. I hate waiting till the bait gets back down there, but unlike catching no fish worse. I've used crappie nibbles and Slab Slobber. I'm trying a new product to me...Pro Cure in minnow scent. It has really helped. Couldn't agree more with these tips for summer. Pro Cure makes excellent products. I use their stuff for catfish as well. Found out about Pro Cure on one of the trips to Alaska.

I forgot to mention one other important tip. No matter how many fish are below you, if you go 4-5 minutes without a bite, move. I give them a couple minutes longer in the summer. During the spring or fall I'll give them 2-3 minutes. It never hurts to go back,...they may change their mind...

With the water temps already dropping since Monday, the next two weeks should be dynamite at your local lakes.
