Fished Deener on Saturday morning.. Fished a lot of my usual spots with very limited results.. Small plastics were not working very well for us.. We caught a few chunking at schooling fish early.. But the schools were twos and threes. Not a bunch of fish..

Looking at electronics we found fish out suspended.. Not on the steep slopes we usually catch em on..

So we tied on some mid and deep crankbaits and trolled around and caught em a lot better.. But we didn't have any beer.. And everybody knows you can't troll very long W/O beer..

These suspended fish are out in the river channel along the big cypress trees after you pass Mormons Bluff (heading up) after you turn north. For whatever it is worth..

Thanks for the report. I had the same results last Saturday. I only caught 8 but one of them was almost 2.5 lbs. It was the biggest one I've caught out there in a while. He hit a plastic worm in 25'-30'. Everything else I caught was the normal Medina Lake bass size wise. I'd say I caught most of mine around 20'-25' in the main part of the lake.

Like you the normal areas that I fished didn't really provide me with any bites. I'm not sure if it's because it was hot or because the water has dropped to make them move somewhere else. Hopefully all this rain we have gotten and are projected to be getting will put some more water in the lake.

Would anyone happen to know where I might pick up a topo of the lake with names of the coves? Any advice would be appreciated.

Your best bet would be to contact these folks and have one sent to you. Unfortunately paper maps are becoming a dinosaur for most so stores just don't carry them like they used to, although I still refer back to them. And YES I have a whole collection of the A.I.D. maps in my tackle room from many years ago.

Lol...Dispite all the modern tech & electronics, there isn't a more relaxing time on the water. By the way, I am a dinosaur, I enjoy planing my work on paper and then working the plan. Thank you, Debra

Unfortunately A.I.D. has shut down operations.. So maps will be limited to what's out there.. Don't know of any other map maker for Medina..

I bought them out of the Falcons about a year ago..

Thanks James. I will also keep that in mind. Has anyone tried a used bookstore?

James, I'm sure glad I have my collection of A.I.D., Hot Spots and Hook-Sinker maps. The link I posted is a store that still sells A.I.D.maps, however they might be out of that particular one.
