Recently purchased HDS12 Gen3 w/ Totalscan transducer for console and moved my HDS7 Gen2 Touch to the bow and trolling motor (MK Ulterra)--connected by Ethernet--turned networking on for both units--i want to be able to view split screen sonar on both units (or either alone) using both transducers--I named each of the HDS devices--but when i select the source on each unit it changes the source for both to the source i'm selecting--same thing if i try selecting using just the split screen on the Gen3. Note--i had selected 200KHz for the trolling motor transducer and High Chirp for the Totalscan--and oddly enough in the split screen although the display says i'm using just one of the transducer for both screens, it is displaying (in the lower left corner of each) that one is on 200KHz and the other on High Chirp. So is this a glitch and am i actually getting a split screen view of both transducers or is the frequency display the glitch ? Both sides of the split screens seem to be displaying the same thing so i doubt i'm getting a view of both transducers. Any help appreciated.

I'm pretty sure you can see two different transducers on the Gen3. I'm pretty sure this is what the Carbon series addressed. John

Meant to post the above to the Lowrance Sonar Page and accidentally started this thread. I've re-posted an edited version of the above to the Lowrance Sonar page so no need to respond here.

John--that's what i thought--in fact i'd seen videos showing you can do that with Gen 3 also--but it's not working--or is it ? I just ran across a video from Paul Getty's fishing in which he says there's a networking issue between gen 3 and gen 2 touch and then describes how to select the different sources to get around it--but that's not working here--at least i don't think it is but the display is showing the two different frequencies even though it says it's the same source--so i'm confused.

If one screen is actually 200 and the other is high chirp the screens should look different. But just to check change the 200 screen to 83. Then the difference will really show.

thanks, Dwight--I'll give that a shot--the weird thing is that both screens indicate i'm using the same transducer while the frequencies show different.

I had the same problem with gen1 and gen3. Because the older gens can't use the Totalscan, it downslected to the least common function. In your case, 200Mhz. It was so annoying, I just stopped sharing the transducer, and connected its own for the Gen1.
it's pretty dang confusing. Tim
