All my reels for over 50 years have been 5500c. Now they have the C3; but no change in the gear ratio; unless I missed something. With the new power handles for a replacement; I have no problems making baits do what they are suppose to and or sliding fish to the boat. Garcia 5500c and 4600c reels are virtually indestructible. A little harder to cast into the wind but they never ever break. Now if you have small hands they may be hard for you to palm but they will not break.
I am a Senager. (Senior teenager) I have everything that I wanted as a teenager, only 50 years later. I get an allowance every month. I have PU truck and a bass boat, I am blessed. Conscience never acquits, it either accuses or excuses.

Thanks for all the advice. I don't think I was clear about wanting the low profile but in a larger size. Definitely don't want the round reels. I'll look into the larger low pro reels that everyone suggested. Right there.

Older shimano curado 200 greenies are what you want they made them in left hand modles, parts are easy to get and they almost never break. Look on trading post, BBC boards or ebay for them.

Curado 300 or a Diawa Lexa 300. They are large low profile reels.

This is like the old TV commercial, Nobody doesn't like Sara Lee. Two double-negatives. "Larger-Non-Low-Profile??" Is that like "Not-So-Small-High-Profile"?? I am so confused!!
