We bought a new pontoon this week, and have rented a slip at Eagle Mountain. Never been on the lake, but it was the closest lake with the cheapest slips. I know its not a big fish lake, but always seemed to have a good population of eater fish. I'm really looking forward to getting back on the water. It gets delivered tomorrow, and then we get the boat all rigged up. And then i have to relearn how to find fish from a boat. But I have 6 cat rigs ready to go, and hopefully we start slaying the fish by next weekend! We put a Lowrance Hook 2 7x split shot (just sonar/downscan) on the boat. Anybody have some tips for getting the settings dialed in for a clear image? Any areas of Eagle Mountain we need to avoid due to hazards?

Anyways, hopefully ill be posting pictures soon, and once I relearn a few things, can help out some of the other new guys.

I hope you love the pontoon, I have enjoyed mine-
I seem to remember that being a pretty good big cat lake, and several guys over the years called it Tawakoni west-

What has happed to you does not define who you are-

HOW you react to what happens to you DOES!

We did. Still in the same area though. Were in NRH now.

And its good to be back. Weve had 2 kids and I just have struggled to make time to fish. Plus other hobbies have gotten in the way, but the kids are old enough to be safe on a boat now, so were back at it!

Very easy lake to navigate, and lots of fish. I had a streak in the winter where I caught a 30# plus fish, 4 trips in a row and I was only getting 2-3 hours of fishing in. There's fish to catch now, but the colder months are the best : ) I

Thats Lake Worth. Its full of big fish. EM has potential but gets way more pressure since you can safely eat the fish from EM.
