Been thinking about hiking south of 380. I have seen a few vehicles parked off 380 and was curious to know if anyone has explored down there recently. Curious to know the water quality and level. With the lack of government funds available for our local parks, doubtful the park will be opened for another 2-3 years.

I have found that the water level on the elm fork above lewisville is dependant on the release from Ray Roberts, which is nonexistent right now. http://www.swf-wc.usace.army.mil/rayroberts/ The last I heard is that there is a massive log jam just south of 380, not sure of the current status. If you go and check it up post up an update.

Yeah, I often fish just below the dam. I was just hoping someone may have scoped it out recently before I endure the chiggers and ticks.

Dropped Pin near Denton County, TX https://goo.gl/maps/FxAgFYMrp2H2Don't know when the image is from, but looks like at the time there was a pretty nasty jam.
No fish is too good for the grease.

Yeah, that log jam has been there a while. I was hoping it may have been flushed out a little. My honey hole is just south of there.

I imagine the only thing biting well now are the longnose gar? It's probably one of the best places I've found for longnose on lures though. I suspect the log jam has the channel completely cut off. Here is a video I few months ago when the water was higher and there was more flow. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AkYUsQjBq7w

That poor creek has changed since the flood. Yes there is a long log jam. I mean BAD, wish something/someone or the state would change it.

State has no money. Spent it once before and it immediately flooded again. Now after Harvey, funds are gone for minuscule projects like this one for years.

Spillway releasing at 1288cfs. Think that will clear out the jam.

They ran twice that last year. Not a budge. They need to run it for a good period of time.
However, the fishing will be really good at the dam while releasing!!

Last spring they released water for more than 3weeks and good amount of rain bring over 10,000cfs from clear creek. Still that log jam remain.
