I installed new Vortex bearing and spindles on my Ranger trailer and now I'm getting a bad vibration I had new tires put on but it has'nt seem to help has anyone else had this problem with those assembleys from Ranger? I posted on BBC but got no response.

Did they balance the tires, could that be it? I had mine balanced on my trailer a couple of months ago when I switched wheels. They said normally on trailers they don�t balance but recommend it on boats.

Hopefully your wheels just need to be re-balanced. Although in my experience, trailer wobble is indicative of an impending big issue. Recently my trailer would wobble bad if I drove over 65 and after 3-4 weeks of it my hub blew out entirely. (vault hubs). Get them re-balanced and if that doesn't solve it, get it checked out!

Since most trailer tires and wheels are made in China it would not be uncommon for them to be out of round and like one poster mentioned they rarely balance trailer wheels. I would check that first and go from there but I would address the situation before your next trip. Having trailer problems out on the road is no fun. And if you weren't already aware, Goodyear now has a trailer tire made in the U.S. called Endurance and well worth the money.

Balancing is the obvious answer, also not expensive, but it's also not the likely culprit. The only time trailers tire are typically balanced is on horse trailers. You don't want the horses to get car sick. For a boat, the trailer tires are "usually" round enough that it won't matter. If you're feeling the wobble in your vehicle, I'm betting on something else going on here.

Thanks for all the feed back but I made sure that they balanced my new endurance tires thinking that might be the problem but the problem started after I changed to the new bearings and spindles after the vibration started I had my old tires balanced and after that didn't help is when I decided to get new tires thinking my old tires might just be worn unevenly.

It is possible you have a bad bearing, in spite of just replacing them. Much like taking care of infants, you may have to go through the short list of fixes a couple of times to cover the problems. It�s possible (well, likely) that what you thought was fixed, didn�t stay fixed.

If the bearings, races, axle, spindle, hub, springs, and tire balancing all look good there is one other thing that could cause some noise/vibration--a crack in the fender rubbing on a wheel.

I had a noise coming from a trailer wheel.

I replaced the races, replaced and packed the bearings.

Content I had done a perfect job, I spun the wheel just to see, and the noise was still there.

After re-seating the races and trying another brand new and repacked set of bearings, spun the wheel and still heard the same noise.

Looked at the inside part of the fender (the part you can't see unless you remove the wheel and hub lay on your back and look up) and it had cracked and bent so that it could just barely rub on the tire. Cut away that part of the fender, spun the wheel, and perfect, smooth silent spinning of the wheel.

My guess would be a bad bearing or a bent axle. If the two spindles are not perfectly aligned, the wheel that isn't pointing straight ahead could cause the trailer to oscillate at certain speeds.

Either way, whatever it is isn't "right" and needs to be fixed pretty quick.

Easy test is to do like CC Tx did. Jack it up and spin the wheel. Looking and listening for anything that doesn't seem normal.

I had same issue after new tires and mine were out of balance.
