Has there been any chatter anywhere about a TFF tuna trip this year?

not on the tff. probably too late to get everyone together and get a boat. Im thinking of running down to Galveston and going on Williams party boats 36 hour trip ($350) in late nov/early dec. maybe we can get a common date and get a group of tff to jump onboard.

Sounds good to me. I've only done the Scat Cat 56 hour trip out of Port A.

The TFF trips as we knew and loved them fell by the wayside when Willie of Texas Outdoor Outfitters ceased to organize them (and do all the dirty work )

But many of us TFF'ers have stayed in touch and been doing trips together. These trips were not displayed here on TFF for a couple of reasons. 1) Smaller boats with limited spots and there was not a need to recruit more fishermen. 2) We did not have the blessing of TFF to advertise them and weren't sure how to go about getting it.

This year a group is doing a 50 hr. trip on the Dolphin Express November 2 - 4. Of the 16 fishers going I think there are about 13 - 14 TFF folks.

There has been some mention of doing the Scat Cat again simply because it can take a larger group. But no one has come forward to act as the organizer.

If that does happen and you are monitoring the activities here then you might get a spot to go.

I'd go on the New Buccaneer way before I'd go on the Capt John. Much better operation.

I looked and they have a 36 hour trip on Dec 1st.
That actually works good for me

Yes, the last trip we went on I caught a ton of black fin and two yellowfin. It was right when the Scat Cat started limiting yellowfin catches.
The biggest yellow so far was 65lbs.

The Scat Cat trips are 750 for the 56 hour.
We are on the Nov 2-4 trip but we normally go twice a year. I may need a fix. I like the full moon, 18th-20th of Jan?

Where did you get the schedule? I�ve searched online and called a few times and never got through. The Nov 2nd date perked my interest.
