I have owned two G3's over the years and currently fish from a Sportsman 17. G3's have a stable platform with plenty of storage. I primarily fish smaller East Texas lakes, so a huge "pro" would be I don't have to worry about hull damage fishing thick timber.
I also fish larger lakes like Fork and Palestine and the ride across big water is acceptable. I have a Yamaha 90 four-stroke, so can't get in a big hurry at 35 to 40 mph but I'm an older guy, so that's okay by me. The Yamaha is quiet, dependable and requires limited maintenance. I take it in every January for it's annual service / oil change and I'm good for another year.
The biggest "con" for aluminum boats would be they are light, so they do get blown around when fishing in wind exceeding 10 mph. I have Talons and a Terrova, so it's not really an issue for me.
As far as warranty, I've owned mine for two years and haven't had any problems. Customer service all depends on the dealer where you purchase the boat. I have bought several boats from Plano Marine - Longview and Jeff Gage has always taken good care of me.
I fished from a big Skeeter for several years, so a comparison would be "apples to oranges". The G3 is a solid affordable boat, but really all comes down to personal choice and a person's "style" of fishing. But I do not regret trading in the Skeeter on my current G3.
If you live in the area, I would gladly take you out in my G3.
