I routinely fish the same brush piles on a couple favorite lakes and always spot lock on top of the same structure. I find the spot lock icon (blue dot which is same as my waypoints)automatically gets saved to my map . Soon I have a clutter of blue dots which I have to scroll over and manually delete the SL points. I'm running Ultrex with Helix 10 G1. Can I set up the HB to NOT record the SL points on top of my save waypoints?
Thanks

I remember having this happen when I had a TM connected with ilink. I never searched much for an answer to your question back then but there has to be a way to shut it off or clear it easily, one would think. In response to David's question, I know in my case I never set it up to record mine it was a default setting I guess.
I would suggest posting this in the general equipment section and Wayne will see it and probably be along with a solution for you.

Ignorant question here......... I thought that you could save a waypoint, select the waypoint and just have the motor go to it. I would think that this would not cause waypoint clutter? OR do you have to spotlock every time regardless of a whether a waypoint is there or not?

OR do you have to spotlock every time regardless of a whether a waypoint is there or not? If you have the link connected to FF then yes, just tell the motor to go to the waypoint. But at times you are just hitting spotlock at an area and not trying to create a waypoint to it. It will mark it on your screen as a spotlock location not a normal waypoint. You could tell the unit to travel from one of the points to another just like a normal waypoint. You can fill a screen up pretty quickly if you fish an area often and they didn't delete themselves. If you sent it to a waypoint, it would just go to it and do whatever you have it set to do which could be turn off, spotlock, etc. and it wouldn't mark that waypoint .

I'm getting by just fine with my Fortrex (don't fish much off-shore stuff) but who knows what the future holds..

It shouldnt be saving your spot locks, there must be a setting for it, because mine does not do that, It shows it while Im on it and for a amount of time if I spot near it but definitely is never there the next time I go back even in the same day. If you cant find it Ill look thru my settings and see if I can help you tomorrow.
